EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Student employees of the University Unions staff both the Brown-Lupton University Union and the King Family Commons Building with varying responsibilities at different levels of employment.

Information Desk Assistants are responsible for ensuring that each visitor to the University Unions has an outstanding experience during their time in the facility. Information Desk Assistants actively greet and assist individuals in the Unions, answer phone calls, deliver prompt and courteous customer service, respond to questions, and provide thorough information regarding the Union, TCU, and the Fort Worth community. Information Desk Assistants enforce University Unions and TCU policies and assist staff in maintaining a safe, professional, and hospitable environment for all visitors. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Event Specialist Staff are responsible for the setup of audio/visual equipment in the Unions facilities. Event Specialists oversee the setup of each event’s technological requirements, greet guests before their events, assist Union guests with using in-room A/V systems, respond quickly to client issues, and help troubleshoot problems, all while continuing to grow in their knowledge of A/V and event technology. Event Specialists enforce University Unions and TCU policies and assist staff in maintaining a safe, professional, and hospitable environment for all visitors. Evening and weekend availability is required. On the job training is provided. Students with backgrounds in music, film, and theater production, & engineering and computer science are encouraged to apply.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

The University Unions typically hires students once a semester. Jobs are posted on Frogs Jobs Powered by Handshake, through the TCU Center for Career & Professional Development.

Job openings are typically posted online using the following schedule:

  • Spring jobs: posted online late October/early November
  • Summer/Fall jobs: posted online late March/early April
