CAMPUS PRESENTATIONS
A staple of previous Bigs conferences are the campus presentations. After listening to feedback from members of both conferences, there will be no block of time dedicated to campus presentations. This time will be replaced with several opportunities for colleagues to share:
- Written Institutional Updates: In October, each institution (participating or not) received a campus update form via email. That form can also be found online HERE. We encourage all institutions to complete this form, by the provided deadline, in order to be included in the digital campus updates that will be provided to all Bigs & Friends members during and after the conference.
- Idea Exchange Presentations: For institutions that have a project or update that is especially worth sharing, the conference will provide a space on Monday or Wednesday for these institutions to give 15 minute breakout presentations (10 minute presentation plus 5 minute Q&A) and share on that specific topic, idea, project, update, etc. Examples may include renovations, new dining concepts, new programming initiatives, or anything that you are proud of or think others could learn from. Information about how to present will be released in October.
- Conference Breakout Time: To allow for members of the same athletic conference to renew relationships and share updates, the planning team has included breakout time for each conference to gather together on their own. This time will be planned and structured by each conference and will not be coordinated by the planning team.
BAYLOR SITE VISIT
New this year, is the inclusion of a site visit to a second Big 12 institution. On Tuesday of the conference, all attendees will travel from Fort Worth to Waco, Texas to visit conference co-host Baylor University. Highlights of the Baylor/Waco visit include: tours of Baylor’s Bill Daniel Student Center and Hurd Welcome Center; a Magnolia Operations Tour; and discussion/reflection time centering on civil discourse. On the return trip from Waco to Fort Worth, participants will have the chance to experience a Texas original – Buc-ee’s! This site visit is included in cost of registration.
